Pol-Ed is a West Yorkshire Police education programme that provides free educational resources to teachers across Primary, Secondary and Higher Education settings to teach children about a range of key topics under 3 umbrella headings.
These are: Relationships, Keeping Safe and Understanding the Law, shortly a 4th umbrella on ‘Wellbeing’ will be added.
The aim of Pol-Ed is to keep our children safe through a range of interventions. We want to stop children becoming victims or indeed perpetrators of crime. These interventions are designed to be delivered to children in phases. The resources are in line with the current Policing Priorities, DfE Curriculum Frameworks and the Ofsted Lines of Enquiry.
Pol Ed offers both Police Forces and schools a range of resources.
The materials are a range of expertly researched and planned lessons and assemblies suitable for Early Years right through to Post 16 that are mapped out against the PSHE Association's Programme of Study.
Along with the lessons for teachers to deliver in schools, there is a range a centralised Police Inputs for Officers to deliver in schools and other settings.
